 I have a ceiling box with two whites, two blacks and two reds. I have a light fixture with 2 wires. I attached one from the fixture to the two whites from the box then the other wire from the fixture to the two blacks from the box. The light works but I cannot turn it off? Should I be connecting...

 How do you change a pull string light fixture to a new light fixture with a wall switch. I have two wires running to the existing string light and am not sure what to do with those wires. I plan to change the light as well.

 I recently had an electrician confirm that the switch and overhead mount are live. I installed the new light fixture according to directions - black to black white to white ground to ground and sealed all with wire connectors and secured with electrical tape. Turned the circuit breaker back on...

I Have a wall swich that currently controls a baseboard outlet. The Wall switch has a white,black, ground coming in from the top of the box-- and a white,black,red,ground coming in from the bottom of the box. The two blacks are tied together/two whites tied together... the red goes to the switch... View more questions Search
