Hasley Ceiling Fan with Remote - Controlling the Light with the Wall Switch
How can I configure a remote controlled ceiling fan such that both the remote and the wall light switch can control the light?

It is a Hasley Ceiling Fan and Light with remote control (UC-7040) that has a LIGHT DIMMER button for the light, and HI - MED - LOW - FOR/REV - OFF buttons for the fan.

Right now, the wall light switch turns off all power going to the fan. So when the light switch is off, the remote is not able to turn on the light or fan. This is to be expected.

When I flip the light switch on, everything functions normally.

If I leave the light on with the remote, and turn the wall switch off and on in less than a second or two, the light comes back on. If I turn the wall switch off for about three seconds or more, and then turn the wall switch back on, the light does not come back on unless I press the remote switch.

So I am thinking that there is a state or mode in the receiver that indicates whether the light should be on or off, but it defaults to the off state when there is no power. I do not know if there is a battery in the receiver or if it is run by the main AC power. If there is a battery, maybe the battery is dead and needs to be replaced. But at one time I checked and could not see where a battery might be. And it is possible that I do not have it wired correctly to allow the light to come back on with the wall switch.

Is there anyway to configure the ceiling fan/light so that if the remote switch leaves the light on, the wall switch can can control the light?

    Thank you.
