    5month old shelter puppy
I got a puppy from the shelter two days ago and since then she has these coughing fits where she coughs up slimy white liquid. At the shelter they said she did not show signs of kennel cough or any other disease or infection. She has no loss of appitite or energy but she does get really hot and a runny nose, even though the rest of her nose is really dry and hot. What could it be?

I got a dog from a shelter that had the same symptoms. She had Distemper and died.

Time to take your dog to the vet.
