    Lighted doorbell and resistors or diodes
    Hi, I make ceramic doorbell surrounds and provide a lighted button to go with. I have questions from customers about the lighted button causing problems with their chimes when the chimes play multiple tunes. I've had electrician customers tell me you just need to add a resistor from the Radio Shack. I'm not an electrician and I don't know what to tell people who want to know what ,exactly, they need to get from Radio Shack and how to hook it up. Can anyne help?

    Stick to your doorbell surrounds... leave the buttons and electrical work to others...
    I assume you do not have any electrical expertise, so stick to what you're good at... let the electricians assume the liability for altering someone's doorbell...

    I'm thinking that people who have wireless doorbell systems are the ones complaining about interference? Because a traditional hardwired doorbell would not be susceptible to that type of problem.

    This is an Electronics (as opposed to an Electrical ) problem that may well be corrected easily and safely. Try asking a TV repair shop if they can refer you to an electronics technician, or possibly you might post in the "Home Electronics" forum here
