    Kenmore demand softener
I have a Kenmore Demand Softener that seems to have simply stopped. It is 12 years old and I started noticing Iron in the water.. When I checked the softener the water was near the top and over the salt. (It was 1/2 full of salt) I tried pressing the reset/ small regenerate now button with a pen but it did not regenerate. I tried changing the clock to 01:59 and waiting for it to cycle at 2:00 but it did not work. I understand the unit is 12 years old but would like to try to troubleshoot before replacing. Any ideas would be appreciated.
