    Fire rated recessed can covers
Hi all - I'm installing a variety of recessed lights, ceiling fans, and speakers in multiple rooms of my lower level condo. Code requires I maintain a 1-hr fire rated ceiling which means I need to have cans that are fire rated or apply a cover (e.g. Tenmat cover) that is rated. I would prefer to do everything via a 6 inch hole where my fixtures will go and not to rip out large sections of the ceiling to retrofit the larger fire-rated cans. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Roger

Awright then - you got to shop for the cans with the fire rating for your situation - like those you can cover with insulation etc. Smaller cans may mean smaller watt bulbs required. LED lights are even better now days.
