    Convertible jet pump
I just purchased a jet pump to replace a shallow well jet pump, but when I opened the box, it contained a convertible pump with a 11/4 inch hole at top and a 1 inch hole at bottom. Can I plug up the bottom hole and just use the top 1 1/4 inch hole as suction just as a standard shallow pump is?
    Thank you
