    Fund raising letters
I would like to write a standard fund raising letter asking local stores if we can fund raise in or outside their stores.

Be sure to include what you are raising the funds for and your charity's address and tax ID#. Many stores don't like their customers bothered by solicitors.

Most larger stores will want a copy of your tax exempt from IRS attached to request.

The letter should be very short. Just
    Dear _____,
We would like permission to raise funds from the public outside your store for our charity, _____________. We will have a table 3' x 6' and five students and one adult, for 6 hours each Saturday between October 1 and November 10.
    Sincerely,
You, with phone number and email
    One adult, same info
    Tax exempt ID number

For small local stores that aren't chains, ask in person, being as charming and pleasant as you can be, and hand over the letter at the end. Even chain stores might have managers who can make the decision, so try there in person too.

Thank you for your helpful response I think I have been too long winded in my requests.
