I live in a house built in 1927, I've replaced everything in the toilet tank, floats, etc. Replaced the wax ring (that about a year ago was leaking in the basement).

Now, I really think I'm being ripped off, when I flush the toilet (only when I flush the toliet) it overflows into the basement (not from the large sewer line it was leaking from when it needed a wax ring)..

The thing is, sewer lines are sewer lines aren't they?? Why is it only leaking when I flush the toilet (and it's not consitant, but in the last week 3 times), no sinks back up, in the bathroom where the toilet is (only toliet) or in the kitchen, not in the tub, what the heck is going on?? No kids here throwing stuff down like toys.

Does this sound like a main sewer line that needs snaking?? Some guy I called said, oh well, who knows, it could be a very expensive problem, maybe thousands, just depends, but we're going to have to look. They said that maybe the pipe is broken, roots (although there is no tree in near to see) Help, I'm getting ripped off!! What is this?> P.s just flushed the toilet, it did NOT leak!! Also, there are little pieces of white tissue paper near the area, obviously from the toilet??

Toilet flushing causing water in basement. Nothing else backing up anywhere (this is the only toilet I have) no kitchen, not bathroom sink (only one) only the toilet. On floor of basement small pieces of toilet paper.

Help, plumbers I call say, might be anything. Wouldn't there be water on the basement floor from all locations if it was sewer line broke or goodness forbid tree roots (not that there is a tree close?
