What kind of tremor I am suffering from?
I am a 17 years old boy. I have got tremor from April last year until now. At first my right hand's thumb trembled. After about a month the tremor went on to other fingers and I found my left hand started to have the same situation. Day by day, my toes started to tremble and this continued to my ankle and now even my thigh. Meantime the tremor was also going to my arms and now the middle part of my body. The tremor occurs only in intention. For example, when I am holding a pen or do some leaning posture but not when resting so I do not think it is a resting tremor. Also I do not think it is Essential Tremor because alcohol does not ease the situation at all. I consulted the doctor on this Wednesday and he asked me to resign in hospital so I stayed for two days. In these two days I have been drawn blood and result is that I am fine (said the doctor). Doctors have come to ask me question and ask me to do some testaments such as nose tipping. I do quite well on this test because I can usually tip my nose precisely in spite of some tremors when touching his finger. For the test like doing Catwalk (the tiptoe touches the another foot's heel alternately and walk along), sometimes I can't balance myself so there's a bit clumsiness. I do the worst in the test of putting the cap back on the pen since I can seldom finish it in one time directly because of trembling (is it a tremor when doing something in purpose? ). One test I also do badly, that's when the doctor told me to countdown from 100 (like saying 100, 97, 94, 91 and so on) while doing the posture of sliding my right foot from my left foot's knee to its instep. My right foot was trembling and it seemed some tremors in my speech. Sometime I forgot to move on my right leg when counting down and sometimes I forgot which number I was counting at. The doctor said maybe I suffered from Intention Tremor. Will there be some problems on my cerebellar? Or other disorders I am possible to get? Last but not least, my situation is in the worst when in daytime especially after waking up but a little improvement in the night time. The doctor said I was a strange case and I hope I will get the answer.

If Physicians cannot help you it is both irresponsible and dangerous for anyone here to attempt diagnosis and treatment.

Here's a starting point to do your own research: Tremor Fact Sheet: National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS)

I had searched for myriads of websites about info. Of tremor before including the one you provided for me yesterday. Still I cannot get the answer but I just want to know how you guys think of my situation. I don't mind you tell me the wrong answer. I am being arranged to do a CT check but maybe a long time later so I want have some kinds of mentally preparation. If you are a specialist, you can of course give some opinions. I will just consider what you say as a reference. Thank you.

Have you had a head injury or concussion? Do you get headaches or have vision problems?

The doctor has asked me about this question and I said in my memory- not. As for vision, the doctor has given me a check and I saw that in his report- visual field intact.

I think you need to go back in for further tests, cat scan perhaps, and then reach out to more rare illness

Thank you for your advice. I want to know the result as fast as possible because I have a very important exam next year and the tremor influences to me so badly especially when I am writing. I am so worried that I have to turn to this forum which maybe one way for me to tackle the problem. I am arranged to have a re-examination in December but I think it is too late referring to my situation. I think I have already had the basic tests as shown above apart from the CAT scan.

This ones for any mechanics out there. I recently bought a car, and when travelling at 65mph the steerin wheel starts to wobble uncontolably, and the tremoring gets more violent with increasing speed. What does this mean and would it reduce traction on the road? Thanks a lot
