Hot Tub Wiring Kit
I just need to know what type of wire to purchase for installing hot tub. I will have it hooked up by electrician.
The info on tub is: 240 V 60 Hz Max 48A. I'm guessing those numbers will mean something to someone!! I'm putting it on lanai and it's approximately 120 - 130 feet from location to box in garage. I would appreciate it is someone could just tell me exactly what kind of copper wire other than 6 gauge is that I need! Thanks for any help offered!! |

We've bought a hot tub and are now in the midst of getting estimates on putting in 220. One electrician told us that the higher amp the better. I read a thread that said you must have the same as the hot tub.? We're confused. Also, when burying the wire, how deep should the trench be dug? Sorry...
I had a pool put in and there was already an extisting hot tub that had a box in the middle of my backyard. When a tractor was digging the hole for the pool, it ripped the eletrical underground wiring. Does anyone know about how much it costs to re wire and put in a new eletrical box?

I'm wiring a subpanel for my hot tub. I know the white wire from the breaker goes to the neutral bar, but does the neutral wire from the hot tub connect to the neutral bar or the neutral terminal on the GFI breaker?
