Bryant A-coil freezing up on model ck5axa036017aaaa
Every time I turn on the A/C to cool our home, the A-coil located inside our home freezes up on our Bryant 90% efficiency, MODEL#: ck5axa036017aaaa furnace. Once turned off to allowed to thaw, large quantities of water to drain out of and down into the unit. We have an AprilAire humidifier on the unit as well.
We have changed the filter (a spaceguard one), added freon, cleaned the outside A/C unit... but the coil continues to freeze up. PLEASE HELP Troubleshoot! At this point, we've spent over $300 and it is still NOT FIXED. Should we have the coil replaced OR ATTEMPT to clean it ourselves? It is very rusted along the front of the A-coil. Also, what can I expect to spend for an A-coil replacement and repair? Should the repair person be paid further since what he's done to this point has not helped? Thanks for any REPLIES to this plea. I have a Trane made in 1986 model BWC036C100CA Only when it is cold around 40 degree outside the big coil freezes up and I get no heat. A/c and heat unit is up on roof, one unit. Im in phoenix, az. Maybe defrost is not working or bad board/relay not sure. Please advise Thanks

I have a Westinghouse Imperial ET18GKXSW02. The coil in the freezer gets an ice buildup at the first corner of the coil were the bi-metalic senser is located. The tubing is cold to that point. The reast of the coil stayes warm. No cold air but fan and comp. run
