9 yr beagle hind legs not working then later seems okay
Abigale is 9 year old beagle that I got from the SPCA. She seems to have been used for breeding only earlier in her life then tossed on the street to die. I have had her for approx 1 year she has been doing fine. This morning she would use wall to hold herself up. Couldn't get up on the couch, and trembled a bit looked like a convulsion and couldn't walk. An hour she seems okay? Don't think she has defecated in a couple days. Is there anything I can do for her? She's not in any pain wagging tail

She could be constipated, she could be getting arthritic, she could have a bowel obstruction - it's just too hard to diagnose online. My golden had a convulsion on a very hot day after exercising a lot and then drinking a ton of very cold water.

Try taking her for a long walk, and make an appointment to see the vet for tomorrow or the next day. You can cancel it if she is able to go and acts all better.

Glucosamine does usually work for dogs and people when they get older.

Sounds like she may have a pinched nerve! Very common in older, short, long-backed dogs.

You need to go to a vet for some x-rays..

The vet is your only option.
