Puppy won't use her hind legs
    Hi,
My 8 week old puppy who was completely healthy and full of energy has suddenly gotten really sick. She seems to be in a lot of pain around her back hips and she won't eat or drink unless it's practically forced down her throat. We took her to the vet and they have no idea what is wrong with her but they gave her meds to help her handle the pain. Any idea what could be wrong with her? The vet suggested a sprain but she seems to be getting worse not better. She seems uncomfortable no matter how she sits yelping in pain when she changes positions.

Any help is appreciated. This is the most heartbreaking thing to watch.

Did someone step on her or run over her with something or drop something on her? Did the vet do x-rays?

yes the vet did x-rays. No broken bones. It doesn't seem to be her feet or legs.. more her hip area. We have been kennel training her so she is completely supervised when she's not in it and nothing significant has happened that we can think of.

It could be many things, if there is nothing wrong with the bones or joints another possibility is the nerves or a neurological problem, spinal problems would also cause loss of function in back legs and pain.

I'm sorry I can't give you an answer, I would seek a second opinion from another vet.
Did they check her spine? Did the vet mention nerve problems at all?
