I had nowhere else to turn to so I came here. Me and my best friend have been friends for about a year. We met online and we've met in person. I'm 16 and she's 14. We've been really close friends , we used to call each other baby and I love you to each other. We would Skype like everyday and call each other. She's told me she has feelings for me and we would be perfect for each other and I told her my feelings too but she's had her heart broken in the past and that she doesn't want a relationship right now. But we talked like close close friends for like a month then when July began she stopped talking to me as much as she did. And I finally confronted her about it and she said she has been talking to her ex lately who left her last year for another girl and now wants to come back. And she said can't I be happy that she loves him . It really hurted a lot. Then a week later she started dating him and I haven't been okay ever since. Its just hard seeing the person I love with another guy . And I don't know what to do. Im like really in love with her, but she told me that I was her best friend not her lover, and that she was sorry but she couldn't date me. She still wants me around as a friend but sometimes she just flakes out on me when were texting. Help please :(

I think she's confused and probably a little too young for a situation like this. I mean I know your only two years apart but maturity level wise your years apart. Just by the way you write I can tell your mature for a 16 year old. Plus she's 14 she probably likes the attention she's getting from you two guys. It's an ego boost for her to know two guys want her. I say just remain being friends, she already made it clear that you two are just friends. Sorry kid.

Yeah your right. I forgot to mention in the past she's had thoughts about killing herself and she would even cut. And she would always turn to me when she's feeling that way. And I've had people tell me that I shouldn't be friends with her since it hurts seeing her with another guy. But part of me wants to stay because I want to be there for her, but I also don't want to feel like the third wheel while she's with her boyfriend.

If you can't just be an impartial friend, leave her alone. Frankly she is too young to be dating anyway.
