    Tx Garnishment for CA judgment
Hello, a law firm in California claiming I owe them 20k is attempting to pass a judgment against me. I live in Texas now and I'm aware they can freeze my bank account but my question is:

Can a California judgment garnish my wages in Texas for the reason above ?

Thank you for your help =)

First, its not a good idea to piggyback your question on another thread. To avoid confusion I've moved your post to its own thread.

To answer your question, No, Texas law does not allow garnishment of salary for unsecured debt. So even if they obtain a judgment, your TX employer can refuse to honor the writ of execution.

Unless, of course, your employer has a presence in California.
