Should I be able to hear my toilet flush and shower come on from my living room walls
Hello. I am a first time home owner. I have a full bathroom upstairs in the hallway as well as a full on suite bathroom in my master bedroom. I have noticed whether I am in the Kitchen or in the Living Room I can hear very clearly and loudly knocking and the sounds of the shower, toilet flushing and water going down the sinks. I really feel like there is something seriously wrong. It is so embarrassing when I have guest over and they start looking around like what in the world is that loud noise. I kind of have the feeling that this house was a fast flip and I am scared to find out if there are some serious plumbing issues. I have also noticed water stains on my kitchen ceiling. What could be the problem here ?

Sounds like there wasn't any sound deadening insulation put in the walls with the drains and pipes when it was built.
