I was offer a job at best buy after my third interview. The next step is the background check and drug test.I do have a marijuana charge from feb 2012 will that effect me getting the job? Does it show up on the background check at all since I'm working on it getting it off my record since it was my first arrest?

Depends on the check BB does. If it is only a charge and not a conviction it may not show up.

Were you asked on the application about any convictions ? If so, did you tell them about it.

If they asked and you lied, then yes most likely they will not hire you. If they did not ask about any convictions, one minor charge years ago should not effect it.

If you are "working" on getting it removed, then it is not removed yet.

It doesn't matter whether you were asked on the written application form or at the interview. What does matter is what you were asked.

Do you understand the difference between a charge and a conviction? If they asked about convictions, and you were only charged (but the charges were dropped, you were acquitted, or you were otherwise not convicted), you can truthfully answer "no".
