Well, let me give you a breakdown of our relationship. I am 28 years old, and my ex is 24. We have dated for about 9 months now, and while it may not be the longest relationship, I can say that I have developed feelings for her that I didn't think I was capable of. I felt like we were compatible on a level that had to mean it was meant to be. But I guess she felt otherwise.

She broke up with me last night at like to a.m. I had watched her dog for her while she was at work, which is usual. She came over at 10:30 to pick him up, and we talked for a few minutes, and she said she was tired and was going to go home and go to sleep. (She had to work 18 hours the following day at 6 a.m.). So we say our "I love you's" and kiss and she goes home. Well, maybe an hour or an hour and a half later, she comes up into my room (She has a key to my house), doesn't say much of anything at all, but clearly something is bothering her. I ask her what's wrong, and she says "Nothing," grabs a few of her things that were here, and heads for the door. This is unusual behavior for her so I follow her out to her car asking her to wait and to talk to me about what is wrong.

We "talk" for about 30 minutes out in her car, which consisted of me asking her what is the matter, and her saying "I don't know" and deflecting any attempt at talking about things. She gives me the keys to my truck, and my house back, saying "I don't need these anymore." She says we will talk about things tomorrow.

Well clearly I take this as a bad sign and I'm all worked up and I beg her to stay and talk to me, saying that I can't sleep not knowing what is wrong or what is going on. She leaves anyway.

I call her, and tell her I'm coming over because I'm worried about her. I show up at her house, and she is walking out to her car. She said she was coming back over to my house to get the rest of her belongings. At this point I still have no idea what is going on.

She gets the rest of her things. She says that I am a habitual liar, and that I "know exactly what [she is] talking about." - I have no idea. As far as I know I have been completely honest with her about everything. She says it has to do with something "In the middle of our relationship."

I beg her to tell me what the problem is, saying that I have no idea what it could be. She made several allusions that imply she thinks I may have cheated on her, which I honestly never have. I ask her if that's what she thinks, and she says "I don't know, you tell me."

Anyway, she breaks up with me, saying that she never wants me to talk to her again, or to contact her in any way.

I'm so frustrated right now because the girl I love is gone, and I don't even know why. I begged for an explanation but have yet to receive one. I feel like after 9 months, I deserve to at least know why she is leaving me. What could have happened in the span of an hour and a half that would cause her to be like this?

Any advice would be welcome.

The reason why she broke up with you is irrelevant. She has made her choice, respect her decision, keep busy, and let time heal your wound. Regardless of what the reason is, you need to move on.
