We stained a cabnet w/oil basted wood stain (Varathane)and it has been two days we even put it outside to dry and it is still tacky in spot's, Is this normal? If not what should we do?. Please help!

Give it another day to dry, nothing to worry about yet... Beyond that, first of all, save the lid/container because it may be a bad batch and they will need that to check the batch number, but that's VERY rare... Is it a 1 step finish with the color in it (stain/finish aka Polyshades) or just the stain? In either case, it could be that it was not mixed thoroughly before use. It's best to stir and pour such products into another container to make sure the stuff at the bottom gets mixed in well. Also, if it got cold before it could dry, then that can slow down the dry time. Did you put it on too thick (most stains should be wiped off)? Did you put a second coat over a previous coat that was not fully dry? What's the label say to do, did you do that? If it is drying over time, then give it some more time. If you try to finish over it now then that may not dry proper as well. If it does not eventually dry in those spots after a month, then I would consider doing a test and brush a small spot with clear ploy. If that area dries then you should be fine to finish the whole thing. If you did everything proper and suspect that it's a bad batch then let the paint store know. The manufacture may already know if there's a bad batch out there. Also, I would not expose it to the sun too much, as it can fade some interior 'dye based' colors in just a few weeks, I saw that happen with another popular brand.
