    Still paying support?
My husbands situation is very similar. He is also paying for three children, two whom are - out of college / in the military. His youngest just dropped out of college because she is 6 months pregnant and supposed to marry the father this summer. He is paying on all three still!! Just found out the EX moved to Arizona from New York over a year ago. Never told child support/ social services a thing about her moving. Trying to get child support reduced/ terminated. Hired a lawyer and had a hearing but the Judge said it was not in her Jurisdiction. How can that be if child support is court ordered in New York? My husband has been a good provider for his families ( his first and ours)!! I just don't understand why fathers get dumped on and the mothers can do no wrong!! There are some women out there that use/ abuse the system.

Sure there are and there are many more men who abuse it.

I'm curious, if she moved without informing the support agency, then where did they forward payments to? If all three children are no longer living with her then she was free to move and there was no requirement to inform anyone.

If the original orders were issued in NY and your husband is still in NY then NY has jurisdiction. So how did your lawyer let the judge get away with saying he doesn't have jurisdiction?

NY law makes payment continue to 21 or if the child is emancipated. The pregnant youngest will be emancipated when she marries. Not sure if military service qualifies the child for emancipation.

So the judge's ruling and the difficulty in getting support stopped seems strange. I suspect something else may be going on that you are not telling us about or you don't know.
