    Shower hot water turns cold
I get good hot water from the shower but as soon as I turn the cold on a fraction the flow of water is cold.I then turn off the cold and its back to boiling, its as if the cold water pressure is too strong for the hot.No one else is using water in the house

Both the fan and the lights are controlled by a common wall switch. The fan speeds are controlled by a pull chain. A second chain selects which lights:
    1. Four small lights are above the fan blades and lie within a cut glass bowl that also includes the fan motor.
    2. Four standard base bulbs extend below the blades.
    3. One center bulb fills the space below the lower four bulbs.
By pulling the second chain repeatedly, I can select between the upper 4 lights, lower 4 lights, center light, or various combinations. I usually have it set so ALL the lights are on when the wall switch is flipped.
My problem: The 4 upper lights are low wattage (7.5 W) that exhibit a rather short life span, and are a pain to change. The plastic nut on one light was cracked. Only 3 of the 4 lower lights worked due to a bad ceramic socket. The lower center light is fine. I decided to rewire the light kits. The ceiling wires had a black and single red connected to fan black and fan blue, white connected to fan white, and ground that was not connected to anything. The 4 upper lights were connected with a dual white "extension cord" style wire. One white wire was connected to 2 blue wires and the other was connected to a black wire. Assuming the center post of each socket should be black, I used my Ohm meter to distinguish between hot and neutral. I attached some black vinyl tape to mark the wire that should be black. How should the "extension cord" be attached to the 2 blue wires and 1 black wire?
The bulb problem... you need rough service or appliance bulbs for this application
Using nightlight bulbs are not really a good fix using an appliance type bulb will work a lot better
Sometimes the bulbs will say 130 volt instead of 120... thats a good thing.they also make 4 watt
Make sure the fan is properly balanced.. its the vibration that kills the filament in the bulb
    Regarding the black /blue issue
. The extension cord type wire might have a "rib"or "line"on one side of the jacket making it the true white and other wire being the smooth jacket side being the blue hookup... you must hook all the ribbed sided wires to the white wire in the ceiling , the remaining smooth (or taped and identified black wires by you) to be hooked to either a black or blue.. this black or blue will go to the pull switch for the 7.5 bulbs... it will work correctly if you pull the main 'lower light' switch and only the lower light goes on.
    Hope this helps
