I have ABS pipe connecting garbage disposer to pipes that lead to P-trap & lines that go in wall connecting to sewer line. The sink, disposer & ABS piping was professionally installed about 12 years ago. The plumber used ABS cement to connect all pieces. So I can not unscrew nuts or whatever they are called.

The leak is small & drips slowly. Leak is coming out from where 2 pieces of ABS were cemented together. I wonder if there is an easy fix? Such as apply more cement?

I've read online instructions to repair use hacksaw to saw off both sides where P-trap connects. It is very tight under sink is why I'm asking for an easier way to fix.

Before you get into cutting and replacing dry the joint off and caulk it with ABS cement. Let me know if it works for you. Good luck, n Tom

Thanks so much for your time replying. Chose not to use cement. Didn't apply "goop" plumbers glue until yesterday. After 24 hours cure time no leaks! Hopefully will stay good. I know a bit about plumbing & research a lot on internet, however now disabled & don't have strength to do my own repairs... but my 29 yr old son works on cars. When I suggested goop brand from another source on the net he said he knew a friend who repaired a leaky radiator with goop & it held for 2 yrs. Have a great day.
