    How much can the IRS offset of my ssd
    I owe 25,000 in back taxes... I just started receiving ssd... how much can the IRS offset of this?
    Is there a minimin amount they have to leave you with?

    If the Social Security Disability is your ONLY source of income and you can show that you need every cent of it to live on, the IRS cannot touch it.

    However, the burden of proof to show this is ON YOU.

    Now, if you have other sources of income from which you can maintain a decent standard of living, then the IRS can take ALL of the SSD to pay off the tax bill.
