The height of arrogance
Well, is it really? Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, red caviar as she is known locally, has been lecturing her G20 counterparts on economic management
Joe Hockey accuses Julia Gillard of 'lecturing' world on economic management | News.com.au
We would certainly like to see Europe and even the US mirror recent Australian success in economic management but what is forgotten is the pain it took to get there, It wasn't without pain, without industry restructuring, without labour market restructuring, without taxation restructuring, much of which she stood in the way of, that made it possible and we certainly wouldn't like Europe to experience the ineptitude displayed by the Labour Government in managing certain stimulatory expenditures. Gillards recent foray into pump priming is to compensate households ahead of time for increases in power costs from the forthcoming Carbon Tax and to compensate households for having insufficient means to make expenditures on education. This is hardly world class economic management, destroying industries in order to follow an easily discredited plan to lower carbon emissions

A credible commitment to fiscally responsible growth is the only way forward.

No Tom Rabid, it is not for nothing I christened her the little red fox earlier, it is not because of her red hair, but her communist past. This is a rabid socialist, an opportunist, and a liar. The consummate politician in the mould of Stalin. I have no doubt she would allow us all to die if it suited her purpose, but she needs the electorate and therefore thinks she can buy votes by ripping it off you with one hand and giving back with the other, but hardly Robin Hood because she cares not for the damage she causes and the unemployment her policies breed. I suppose in that respect she seems similar to your conservatives

I don't know if she takes an early morning run past Lake Burley Griffen, Tom and with the Lodge being renovated it might be difficult. What I can say is I observed her at recent a conference and I doubt I have seen a more aloof or detached person.
She copped a rebute at the G20 for her remarks

By the way ;I notice that Red Julia's minions are all in a huff over Gina Rinehart's increased shares in Fairfax Media's owership . What's the matter ? They don't want opposition press to compete in the market place ?

Tom with the ascendency of Gina comes another Murdock. Fairfax was reasonably balanced but 1900 jobs will go and the print media will be reorganised. Gina will direct editorial bias if she gets on the Board and Labor has already thrown down the gauntlet in the mining arena. Australia has a certain concentration of media ownership that isn't healthy for a democracy and the Little Red Fox doesn't want to be fighting the media in the election. Murdock is buying Packer out of Consolidated Press how come that doesn't raise an eyebrow. I see the press as likely to be highly partisan come the election

Maybe Red Julia really objects to the fact that Gina opposed the mining and carbon taxes ;and if she was a lefty buying Fairfax ,Julia would not be so concerned about the concentration of media ownership.

Tom here's a little perspective
Media monoliths and the sound of one hand clapping - The Drum (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
The mining tax battle has begun with a High Court challenge on Constitutional grounds, Gina isn't leading that one, I think her sights are set on directly pushing the Little Red Fox out by throwing petrol on the fire. And I expect Murdock will walk in lockstep with her because what I see around the corner is government action on his concentration of ownership
