    1040NR for 2005
    Hi,

I came to USA on Aug 2005, and start working till now under H1B. For year 2005, I have to file 1040NR, but for the year 2006, I will file 1040. I know this are some benefits for Resident Alien over Non-Resident (1040NR). So my question is, consider my current status, will IRS refund me something which I could not get for year 2005?

    Thanks in advance,
    Andrew

    Andrew:

    No.

Each year is filed on income and deductions earned/incurred in that year only, with carryovers and carrybacks only in very rare cases.

In there, he claimed an education credit (or something to that effect) which effectively...
