Lymph nodes are small glands in the body that play an important role in the immune system. Swollen lymph nodes/glands might be due to a viral or bacterial infection. Other conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and certain cancers including leukemia can occur. Swollen lymph nodes are common and usually indicate the immune system is fighting an infection. Please see your doctor for correct diagnosis and treatment.
