Joint bank account?
I will be moving to florida soon, I plan to open up a bank account. Question is, my father will be moving down also, but for the mean time i was wondering is there any way i can have a joined state-to-state back account with him, or is there some way i can put money in, and he can fully access the account? We currently live in NY. So i was wondering if that were possible to do? This is defiently what i want to do, so i wanted to know if anyone knew how to go about it. Also, does anyone maybe have an opinion or a better idea as far as this situationg goes? I am not interested in western union, sending checks, ect...
thanks so much:)

Hello romain:
Sure, there is a solution to your problem. However, I'm not sure exactly what you want to do.
If you want to make sure that your father has immediate access to money you deposit for him, then that's one thing. If you want him to have access to OTHER money in the account of YOURS, then that's another.
I suspect the first. Cool. There are several ways to do this. The easiest would be for him to open an account with a nationwide bank, like Bank of America. Then you can walk into any branch of the bank in Florida, and make a deposit that he can access immediately. You can do it from your computer, too.
Go into a couple banks and do some shopping. You'll find a way. It's easy.

You have not stated how many children have your father. However, I take it as lone child of you only. In such case you have convert the single account into a joint account by signing a declaration before the bank authorities to operate the account on either basis. So it avoid tangle after your father. If he had several childeren, your father have to state the need of converting the account as joint account and that must be accepted by the bank. If not done so, after your father you have to produce death certificate, legal heir certificate, no objection letter for effecting payment to you. Nomination also made in this case to avoid further tangle under law.
