Blower turns on, and quickly shuts down... help

Gas furnace turns off and when fan blower starts, it quickly shuts down repeatedly help please any ideas why

When I turn the shower on a quarter of the way it comes on for 5 sec then shuts off. If I turn it all the way it doesn't come on at all. Anyway, it doesn't stay on for more than 5 seconds and its on very lightly. It is a fairly new (2 yrs old) shower. Thanks for any assistance.
