    Vacate judgement ga
Okay so I would like some assistance please.

I received a letter from JP Morgan Chase a few months ago about an inquiry into my account. I called said department and was given a number to a lawyers office in GA who are obviously a debt collector. They gave me some info on a so called car loan that I took out 15 years ago in ga (97) they said I am being sued for that, I did once live in ga, and felt like I was a victim of identity theft after a bunch of ga addresses that I had never lived at showed up on my credit report. However its now 2011 I have since cleaned up my credit and am in the process of buying a home. Well just this past week I found out that a lien had been placed on my bank account in the amount of $12,000. I have the original court documents that were filed in 2000 when I was no longer living in the state. I moved to NY in 1999. The amount of the judgement filed then was about $3800 plus fees. FF to 2012 and I need to know my rights and how to get this judgement vacated. This is NOT my debt, I was never served and given a chance to appear in court, and these people can't produce me a contract that I signed, a copy of my drivers license, NOTHING. All they have is a ssn, and an address from my credit report and the names of a couple of my past employers and say we have positive matches on your identity, so this is your debt. I need to know what I can do because its not. And in a day and age of electronic everything this is unfair, my income tax returns, ny paycheck, have all gone into this account and my funds are frozen.

Hire an attorney in GA to make it easier, they file a motion to vacate due to improper service and also perhaps for ID theft. Report the ID theft and get a case number for your report

Did they garnish your bank account in Georgia or in New York? If it was in New York, they should also have given you notice that they were seeking to file the judgment up there.
