How to wire fan and light to a two wire box
I want to install a ceiling fan with a light. My building is old and there are only two wires in the ceiling box and two wires at the wall switch. Can I install the fan and light and if so will the fan and light operate together or can I find a way for them to operate separately?

Tell us what you mean by wires. Do you mean two wires or do you mean two cables, each with a black and white wire?
There must be at least two wires in one cable in the ceiling and four wires in two cables at the switch. Or there must be at least four wires in two cables in the ceiling and two wires in one cable at the switch. |
