I have probation for fighting some girl and she said I had brass knuckles when I didn't I am 17 what does probation mean? Will I have it when I am 18? I live in California do they do random drug testing?

Probation means just what it is. The judge will have issued it for a certain amount of time, so when you get off depends on how many months or years you got it for.

You will have one of many levels, in some it is unsupervised, in others you will have to go in and report every so often ( can be weekly, monthly or other)

You have to report any contact with police. You can not normally travel out of state without permission of the Probation officer. They have the right to search the home you live in, any time they want without warrant. Yes they often give random drug tests. And so much more.

Thank you .I didn't serve anytime it just after the fight she pressed charges so I have probation now but how long do you think I will be on probation?

Didn't they tell you when they let you know you were going to be on probation? Whoever told you that you were going to be on probation should also be able to tell you for how long. Have you asked that person?

When the judge puts you on probation, they tell you how long it is for. And the probation paper work that is given you will tell you how long.

No after the fight, you get charged, then you either go to court and/or agree to a plea agreement, and then you get probation.
