Im currently pregnant right now due in 4 months and the father and I were wonderful friends but when we found out we were pregnant he started heavy drinking and sleeping around, with that said now his sister and everyone else is putting in there advice to him and now he is saying he is going to fight for her. Im not an unfit mother I come from a very good family I don't smoke I don't drink. I do not plan on putting him on the Birth Certificate. But he has not done anything at all to help me even in the smallest amount to get prepared, he has verbally been very abusive and his sister as well. He has not been to any doctor appointments now has he been there when I have been in the hospital several times. He also was charged with assault on a female a few years back but it was expunged but it was severe enough to keep the military from wanting him does this hurt his chances of getting rights?. My big question is Can he get visitiation with the past he has and the current things he happens to be doing? And how much is it going to cost him to get visitation? What can I do at this point to make it harder for him to fight? He is the kind of guy that will take visitation to just be a jerk and then drop her off with family or friends while he goes to get drunk? What can I do?

No this does not effect his rights and of course he will get visitation. He has no record of being a threat to a child. ( and of course you had no issue sleeping with him and having a child with him, so you felt this was not a problem either, until he left you)

He can even ask for joint custody, he gets child 1/2 the time, many courts allow men to have this. I see nothing you can do, to stop the father of the child from having his legal rights enforced. He will just have to file for child visitation and what ever that order is from court, you will be required to follow it.
