    contactor here

Not hard to do if you are willing to learn a couple of quick things.

Get exact contactor or specs as old.

Pull power to the outdoor unit and indoor unit. You could just throw breakers to make it easy.

Now that power is off, make sure it is off with a meter.

Discharge any capacitors in the outdoor unit.

Take photos, draw with crayons, label-anything to make sure you know what wires are going where on the new contactor.

Remove leads and contactor and replace with new one. You can wire as you go.

Hook up coil leads (24 v) to side of the contactor coil.

Hook up lugs for line voltage coming in.

Hook up leads on load side of contactor

Make sure contactor is secured against panel

Re-establish power to indoor and outdoor unit and you should be happy.
