Help: Filed taxes for spouse -- without ITIN
    Hello,

I am on H1B and my wife is on H4.

I filed the joint taxes for 2006 without getting an ITIN for her [ I entered 000-00-0000 as the SSN]

How do I rectify this blunder -- Do I have to re-file my taxes?

    Thanks,
    Dhar

    Dhar:

Just wait! The tax return will be rejected, then you can re-file correctly.

Update: I just spoke to a IRS customer rep on phone. She told me that I'd get back a math-error and I'll have to send the W7 form along with the copy of math error report.

    Thanks,
    Dhar
