Mold! Gave a 15 day notice am I entitled to pay the rest of rent
    Hello,
I rented an apartment to find that mold is living in my bedroom. I brought it to my landlords attention he tells me to clean it with bleach and water and not to get it on the floor. He says that there are'nt pipes behind the wall so this is caused by humidity and there needs to be venalation in the room. He gives me all the insruction on keeping the humidy out of the room. Close the door while showering, turn the FAN on while you shower open the window a little more etc. So I cleaned the mold and before I cleaned it I took pictures and saw the there was bleach stains on the floor possibly from the last tenant who cleaned the same mold. A month later I find mold again in two different areas. Told landlord again. Landlord came out to assess and stated that he will have to put a fan in the bathroom to get venialation going. To also find in the bathroom that there is a leak from the upstairs apt coming through my bathrm wall. Month later no hear from landlord about coming to fix the problem. Found out that I was expecting so this is now deemed a more dangerous living situation. I found an apartment was approved and paid landlord half of the rent for the month because I am leaving on the 15th. Landlord finally called and was not happy and says this is not exceptable and will have to handle the situation. Is the Landord entitiled to keep my deposit? Or am I responsible to give him the rest of the rent?

Looks like one of those situations a judge will have to decide. If you move out because it's uninhabitable, you don't have to pay rent for after you move. The question is whether the mold is bad enough to justify moving immediately.
