Radon mitigation with open wall drain tile system
Live in a split level home and recently had an open interior french drain installed. It is only installed on half of the perimeter. There is an open wall drain that is designed to catch wall seepage and direct it to the drain tile. Before the interior drain was installed I had a radon level of approx 3.0. Now with the open wall drain and sump pit it has elevated to approx 6.8 We are about to refinish the areas that had the drain system installed. Everything was gutted due to water damge and mold. I am concerned with this open wall drain system and radon. If Install a radon system in the middle or opposite side (the side without the drain tile system) of the house will it have enough vacuum to work efficiently with this open wall drain system? Before we refinish the area with the drain should I hang a moisture barrier up against the cinderblock wall and attach it to the plastic wall drain material? I was thinking this would possibly create suction for the radon fan vacuum, making it more efficient. Not sure if this is a clear question... just really need some help on this before we finish the living area and I no longer have access to these areas. Thanks for taking the time to read.
