    How to get a copy of a mobile home title that was in my fathers name?
    My father recently passed away and I am trying to figure out what my next step is with his mobile home. He bought it back in 1984 and has lived in the same mobile home park the entire time. The manager does not have records dating that far back. My father had a roommate/girlfriend for the last 15 years. Everything is in my fathers name, but no one can find the title. The roommate is now trying to sell all of my fathers things and I do not know what to do. My brother and I had offered to sell her the mobile home but she thinks she does not have to buy it from us. My father lived in California and I live in Illinois. If anyone knows how to get a copy of the title, I would truly appreciate the help. I do not have the VIN or anything. Thanks so much!

    Then you need to file to probate the estate and have an executor named. The executor can contact DMV to get a copy of the title.

    You need to do this fast to forestall her selling anything and also to evict her from the home.
