I have a hampton breeze saratoga remote control fan with light.

Off fan/light is blue, white, and black.

Off receiver for remote on one side is blue, white, and black (to connect to fan).

Off the other side of receiver is white (neutral) and black (hot).

Out of ceiling is white, black, and red.

I have a Lutron switch on wall with black, yellow, and red.

Can this be wired so fan is controlled from switch and remote? If not what is best alternative. I want to at least be able to control the light from the wall.

I am assuming that means the cable in the switch box, and that it is really black, red and white, not yellow. Also assuming that there is no other wires in either the switch box or in the ceiling box. That means that the switch is 3-way switch and there is another 3-way switch somewhere.

If the black ,red and yellow come out of the switch and not the cable coming to the box, that means it is a 3-way dimmer switch, replace it with a regular 3-way switch.

Take note of which wire is connected to the common of the switch you have open. Remove cover of other 3-way switch. There you should find that wire (from the common of first switch) connected to either a red or black going to the ceiling. That is your switched power going to the ceiling. The other wire (red or black) going to the ceiling will be your unswitched power. The unswitched power will be connected to the black of the two wire cable bring power to the box, which will also be connected to the common of that switch.

At the ceiling box connect all the whites together. Cap the blue from the receiver with a wire nut. Connect the blue from the fan to the switched power (red or black).
Connect the black of the black/white pair from the receiver to the unswitched power from the switch. Connect the black from the fan to the black of the black/blue/white set from the receiver.

Sounds as if the wall control you have is what we refer to as a dual control. Does your wall control have 2 switches on it, 1 for the light and 1 for the fan? If so that switch is not compatible with the remote control. You can get one at http://www.fansunlimited.com/
