    I stayed less than 180 days in 2011( from Aug-2nd to Dec-31) and my visa is H1B.
    Am I eligible for 1040NR and how much tax returns I may get.

    You should file 1040 NR or 1040 NREZ.

    You do not get standard deduction. You get itemized deduction. You can claim lodging, travel and food expenses for during your stay in US. Complete Form 2106 or 2106EZ.
