    New puppy-older dog pissed off
We have worked out that our 8 yr old female silky is pissed off at our new 8wk old boodle. She has started pooing in several parts of our house- outside dinner table, bedroom, & lounge. How do we stop this ferral behaviour? She has been spoilt more than usual BECAUSE of the new puppy, not despite him.

Your older female is displaying her dislike of the new puppy. She is acting out in protest to let you know she is upset.

Is your dog upset with the other dog? No. That is humans portraying our feelings and thoughts onto our animals.

To get her through this, it's just going to take time. Ignore her pottying all over the place. Just clean it up without any commotion. Right now, if you make a big fuss over her pooping in your home and on your things, she is going to continue because she is getting the attention she wants. Dogs don't understand that pottying in one place is bad, but in another place is OK. So punishing her for it, even if all you do is yell at her and throw her outside, is going to re-enforce this behavior.

If you cannot keep an eye on her, crate her. Don't allow her to be bad. Crates keep good dogs good. When you are holding the puppy, try and invite her to join you. Interact with her separately from the puppy. Great her first, feed her first and give her extra attention. But, if she is going to be demanding and push herself between you and the puppy, take the puppy and leave the room. You are still the leader of your pack and she is not going to tell you who can come into the pack and who cant. Very subtle actions is going to let her know what is going on. Dogs don't need to be man handled and they don't need to be constantly yelled at. They are visual animals... and leave the room when she is being a jerk is equal to you yelling at her and letting her know she is a bad girl.

These things take time. Your dog has been the only dog for possibly 8 years. This is a big change for her. And even if you are replacing another dog, this is still a big deal for her. As the puppy gets older, she will relax. As you start to introduce the puppy into your every day lives, she will relax. Ignore her behaviors and praise her for when she does good. She will soon forget about the puppy and will learn to accept the puppy into her life.

Just think of her as a toddler trying to understand why mom is paying lots of attention to a new baby. Its jealousy, its change and it just takes time to get everyone use to each other.

Parvo has nothing to do with the post, palewhite. Your information is erroneous. They are discussing the older dog is reacting to the new pup.
