My 11 month old female Mastidane hasn't drank water in almost 2 days. She is not fixed, and never unsupervised. She is still eating and playing like nothing is wrong. She had rice and pasta for food the last couple of days because she was left with a puppysitter that chose not to go get her more food when she ran out. I'm probably being paranoid and she probably got a lot of water from the rice but it's still better to know! She ate two bowls of food this morning and will drink (albeit very little) if you hold the bowl up to her and coax her but I can't do that forever. She does have raised food dishes. She isn't showing any signs of being sick. Thank you in advance for any help! :)

The assumption is that she just isn't thirsty, not necessarily that she is ill. (Any dog, 2 days without water will be thirsty!) If so, is there any other place in the house where she could get a drink? (The toilet comes to mind... no problem for a dog that size.) If you are positive that isn't the case, follow her around when she 'wanders' off out of sight. How about outdoors? Same deal there, only watch her as soon as she goes out, as a drink may be the first thing on her mind.

Were I to suggest you first see your vet, this is going to be the first thing he'll want cleared up (unless he's the type to jump at the chance to run a bunch of lab tests FIRST !).
