We have lived in this house for over 20 years and the sewer smell has started
We have lived in our 40 year old house for over 20 with never having a problem with smells. In the past month the sewer smell in the basement has started and is getting worse. It sometimes gets less and sometimes more. It seems to be around the sink area. Please help with suggestions.

Check all traps including any floor drains. I recommend a cup of mineral oil in floor drains which will not evaporate.
