    1991 Civic Hb DX
New to the forum, but I'm running into a problem I curently have a 91 civic HB Dx, first of all I've been having a problem turning the car on in the mornings or when it has been runnig for a while, and trn off the car it will take a couple cranks in order to turn on, also when I take long trips my check engine light comes on after 20 minutes, and now I have recently chekd the ecu code and turns out it does this: the first two blinks are not long they are fairly short. Blink (pause) blink (pause) then 16 quick blinks. What can this be I have no clue how to read the codes, or what it means. Please I need some help so ican fix it as soon as possible beucase it is affecting my MPG.:( :(

OK great, THANKS. I will check the relay, would you say that one of my fuel injectors might be dirty? Should I take them out and make sure the screan is clean ? And also how would I do the fuel injector test? The clicks sound when the car is off and you crank it or when it is on.

    Code 16--Fuel Injector.

I would begin by replacing the PGM-FI Main Relay, which is a problematic component and likely causing your starting problem. Also, listen to each fuel injector, making sure you can hear each one click--if not, replace.

No need to remove them, at this point. Just start your car and listen for each injector to click.

1991 Civic won't start [ 6 Answers ]

I drove my Civic last night delivering pizzas in a massive rain storm. It ran fine and it started fine after work when I went to the store. But, this morning it wouldn't start and it won't even try to turn over. And I'm pretty darn sure it is not an electrical problem... all the lights and what not...
