    Mischief over 5000$
    I was charged with mischief over 5000$, long story short I kicked a car, I did no damage at all and the person who owned the car was not there when I was charged. I have two dates that I have to attend, one at the police station and one at a court 4 days after.

    I'm curious why its "over 5000$" when I've done no damage? Why I have to go to the station 4 days before my court date? And an idea of what the punishment could be?

    I've never been in trouble before with anything in my life and I was also let go literally 15 minutes after they arrested me.

    You first need an attorney. You will need to make them prove that the damage was over 5000 first of all.
    But my personal guess was they charged it high, so they can plea bargain down to a lower charge

    I'm not working at the moment, and to be honest I have no idea what the estimate an attorney costing me, are there any other options?

    Assuming you are in the US or Canada you have the right to ask for an attorney to be appointed, You make no statements to the police, ( without an attorney appointed) you make no confessions, and plead not guilty till you get one. You have to make them prove you were even there and did it.
