8 week old pup not eating or drinking, spewing after every drink and pooing blood now
I just got her two days ago and didn't want to eat , has been sleeping a lot and when I hand feed her some raw mince and dog meat she ate fine but then was up all night spewing and pooping till blood came. Took her out side to grass this morning and she tried to poop again and it looked like she had something stuck, gave her a drink off fresh water and 10mins later she spewed it up.

I think there is only one avenue for this baby, and that is to the vet. That little thing is very ill, Vikk.

Where did you get her from ? A breeder, the pound, someone's backyard, where?

She could have parvo and at 8 weeks old her immune system is not strong enough to cope with illness, especially when she is becoming dehyradted.

    To the vet my dear.

Sounds like Parvo. Make sure you get her to the vet asap. A dehydrated pup can go from bad to worse in a matter of hours. It's worth it to call into an emergency vet.

    Please keep us posted.

First shots seldom confer any protection, and should be followed by the suggestion to treat the pup as if it had no protection at all, until it gets shots at 4 months of age. In this case, if it is parvo, it has had it for several days before you got it... it takes time for the disease to develop.

But it may be something else, like a bad case of hookworms. Your vet will/should be able to determine the problem, and is the best way to go with this problem rather than wait to see what develops. Pups dehydrate easily when going at both ends.

Vikk I am truly sorry about your pup, and if she came from a breeder I would have some serious questions for that breeder. The baby should not have come to you, from a breeder, in that condition. I wonder about the other pups in the litter as well.

You should do some investigating. Please let us know how she is doing and what the vet found.

I was going to say it must have been the meat you fed her...

Careful with treats and puppies. What is OK for an adult dog, isn't always good for the tender tummies for puppies. Stick with the manufactured puppy treats.. they are formulated to help with their tender tummies..

Glad it wasn't parvo! Although, keep in mind that your dog is not fully vaccinated until its 3rd shot.. So please stay away from dog parks and keep from putting her on the ground of pet stores..
