    Anti siphon 528 for a poo
    What is the purpose of the anti siphon 528 for a pool? Just bought a house with a pool.

    Hi Smc

    The purpose of an anti-siphon device at a pool is to prevent pool water from getting siphoned into the drinking water in your home (or neighbor's houses). In other words, it is basically a backflow prevention device to keep the dirty pool water from getting mixed into your house water system.

    In some states, there are similar devices installed at water heaters, sprinkler systems, outside water faucets and at forced water boiler systems (some steam boiler systems with auto. Feeds, too).
