No water coming out from shower faucet
My shower in master bathroom hasn't been used for a while. I turned on the shower faucet today but no water was coming out. Both the sink and toilet in the master bathroom have water. Thus I don't know what happened to the shower.

The shower head is from Moen. I removed the faucet handle, pulled the cartridge out, and brought the cartridge to the Home Depot store. I was told that this cartridge is for Price Pfister Avante and this needs to be replaced. I replaced the cartridge but still no water coming out.

I found the pipe does have water. If I didn't push the cartridge in completely, I will see water coming from the sprout below and leak around the cartridge once I turn on the water valve to the house. However, once I pushed it in, whatever how I turn the handle, no water is out.

Can anybody share your experience? Thanks.

Shut off your main, remove the cartridge and cover the hole with a tightly held towel. Have someone briefly turn on the main? What happened when you did this?

Yes, water should come out of the valve body if the cartridge has been removed. Did you get water?

Hot water coming out of shower faucet by itself [ 1 Answers ]

I woke up to hot water running in my bathroom tub. Turning the faucet on and off did nothing to stop it. It was not running "full blast" but was a steady stream. The only way to stop it was to turn off the hot water tank. What would cause this? A malfunction in the faucet or is something else...
