    Early labour?
    I am 37+6 weeks pregnant and have been in early labour at 27weeks at witch the hospital managed to stop, I have had an ultrasound witch shows my cervix has shorten to 1 and a 1/5cm , my plug come out yesterday morning (around 7:30am) since then I have been getting contractions every 10 minutes with a pain rate of 7 out of 10, I had my partner check my cervix to see if I was dilaited and I am around about 6cm dilaited and he said he could feel the baby's head though the wall next to my cervix, my waters haven't broken as of yet, this is my 2nd child and with my first I had to have my waters broken for me . Unsure of when I should head up to the hospital and what to expect, or if I should be worried, please help

    I am going to copy and paste what I said to you in response to your other question...

    Now, first things first... take your partners hand and smack it. A cervical exam should ONLY be done using sterile technique. Since I am pretty sure you don't have sterile gloves at home, I'm also pretty sure that he did not do a Sterile Vagnial Exam, and in doing so could introduce bacteria/infection to your or your unborn child.

    Secondly, if your partner is not TRAINED to check a cervix, he should not be trying to check your cervix as it is possible to rupture the membranes prematurely, which could introduce another entirely different set of problems that could endanger the life of your child, among several other dangerous scenarios.

    Now, with that said... if you are having regular contractions, and your partner thinks you are 5cm dilated, by all means get off the computer and go to the hospital to get checked out!
    Go to the hospital if you are still having contractions. 37+6 is now basically 38 weeks, so you are now full term. Get off the computer and go to the hospital.

    Oh, Yeah, tell your partner to keep his hands out of your vagina. He is not trained to check a woman's cervix so he very well could do more harm than good.

    I guess you didn't want REAL advice then did you? Go ahead, have your partner check your cervix, make sure he breaks your water when he does. If you are lucky you won't have a prolapsed cord that could kill your baby!
