Harbor breeze ceiling fan speed issue
Hi... my name is randy and my question is this... medium speed runs faster than high... another way to put it is that high speed now runs at a speed as if it were the low speed... so you could say that the high speed doesn't work anymore thus giving the medium speed the appearance of running faster, wasn't always that way... this has recently happened also with another ceiling fan... there is only a 4 step pull chain and directional switch... I have already replaced properly the 5 wire capacitor send free to me by harbor breeze... also there is now a more robust hum than when it was new.. especially when switching it to the medium speed... I am very well versed in electronics and mechanics so feel free to get technical as I can take the motor apart and try any ideals you may have... if possible I would rather fix it than buy a new one if possible... thanking you in advance for your time and effort to help me... sincerely, randy :))

There are several speed switches for fans that appear the same, but switch different.
    I would suspect the switch.
If you had another fan like it, you could swap speed switches to verify your new switch is working correctly. OR
Set to High and use a speed control on wall or remote?
